M 108 (NGC 3556) -- Barred Spiral Galaxy in Ursa Major
In A Galaxy Far Far Away...
The light entering my telescope for this drawing left the galaxy 46 million years
ago. The Spiral Galaxy, M108, has bright knots in it indicating much activity
within. Only one of the white dots seen on the galaxy, in this drawing, is a close
foreground star belonging to our own galaxy, the rest are distant active regions
within M108 itself. Well worth a view before the sun rises on a new day.
