NGC 2169 -- Open Cluster in Orion
The open cluster NGC 2169 is most often referred to as the "37 Cluster". Keep in mind that my
drawing is mirror-reverse due to the optical setup of the telescope and oriented nearly upside
down. Even so, with a little imagination, you can still make out the number 37 in the drawing.
The other common name is the "Little Pleiades". Stephan O'Meara listed NGC 2169 as his
Hidden Treasure 36 (HT 36). NGC 2169 is a simple but elegant little cluster in the northern
section of the constellation Orion.
