NGC 3245 -- Spiral Galaxy in Leo Minor
This small spiral galaxy showed its bright core at 84x in the 6-inch refractor from
my suburban backyard.  A bit more challenging was getting the extended elliptical
north-south glimpses of the spiral arms.  Upping the magnification to 182x helped
tease the dimmer portions away from the core.  The drawing is based on the 84x
magnification view of the galaxy and the surrounding star field, plus the additional
detail within the galaxy gleamed from the 182x power eyepiece.
