NGC 4026 -- Lenticular Galaxy in Ursa Major
A Fuzzy Star with Faint Wings
NGC 4026 is a Lenticular Galaxy that is seen nearly edge on.  At low power when looking for
the galaxy, the only part of the galaxy noticed is the star-like nucleus.  It is not difficult to detect.
With an increase of magnification, plus a little observing time the extended thin north-south
extensions of the galaxy manifest themselves.

The star-like galaxy core is fueled by a super massive black hole that has a mass 250 million
times that of our sun.
