NGC 4179 -- Lenticular Galaxy in Virgo
NGC 4179 is a Lenticular Galaxy that has an elongated shape. The galaxy appeared, in
the 155mm refractor from my suburban backyard, as a small, thin sliver of light with a
star-like nucleus and an enlarged core slightly brighter than its narrowed disk. The
drawing circle was drawn at 84x while details on the galaxy were added using 137x.
