The Rarely Viewed NGC 6144
NGC 6144 has one serious flaw, it is just too close to the Cat’s Eye (M4) which is one of the
show-cases for Globular Clusters. But outside of this single flaw, NGC 6144 is a nice Globular
Cluster in its own right. After wowing and yawing at M4 a few will move on to M80 (another
pretty Globular Cluster) in the Scorpion. But NGC 6144 is only 1 degree from M4 – why not
take at look before you leave the Cat's Eye.
