NGC 6642 -- Globular Cluster in Sagittarius
NGC 6642 – The Gnat near the Giant
NGC 6642 is a faint, tiny Globular Cluster that is one-degree northwest of the huge Globular
Cluster M22. This somewhat insignificant Globular Cluster is easy to locate since it has a
relatively bright core. To me the core seems too bright for such a tiny cluster. The next time
you have the giant Globular Cluster M22 in your eyepiece, nudge the telescope a short
degree to observe the gnat.
