84 Virginis -- Double Star in Virgo
Orange & Blue Double Star in Virgo
I had time for one more double-star observation for the night before the moon slipped below
the horizon and I could switch my telescope-time to galaxies.  And what a fine double it was.
84 Virginis has a bright orange primary star with a pale bluish secondary star.  They are
separated by 2.9 arcseconds so some magnification was needed, but still the split was not
difficult, and the contrasting colors were pleasing on the eye.

84 Virginis is a worthy target for amateur astronomers regardless of the phase of the moon.
