Collinder 428 -- Open Cluster in Cygnus
An Open Cluster in the Pacific Northwest Section of the North American Nebula
Imbedded in huge North American Nebula (NGC 7000), at the location of where one would imagen
the Pacific Northwest would be located, is the quaint Open Cluster (Cr 428).  From my suburban
backyard the diffuse glow of the North American Nebula is invisible at the magnification (84x) which
I used in the drawing.  A nebula filter revealed the faint nebula but detracted from the Open Cluster
proper. I drew the faint nebula using a UHC filter but captured the stars of the Open Cluster without
a filter.
