Comet Jacques C/2014 E2 on August 27, 2014
A Rare Visitor From The Oort Cloud
Comet Jacques (C2014 E2) is currently in Cepheus which is high in the sky in the early
morning hours.  As of this morning it was magnitude 7 and easily visible in binoculars from
my suburban home.  What was unusual for me is that I think I was picking up a slight
blue-green color in the comet in the telescope which is not usual for a visual observation.  It
is worth looking at and you have to catch it now since you will have to wait 20,000 years
before it will return.  Drawing done from Columbia, Maryland.
