IC 4665 -- Open Cluster in Ophiuchus
The Summer Beehive
IC 4665 is the perfect binocular object.  This Open Cluster is too dim to see well
with the naked-eye and too big (twice the size of the Full Moon) to be seen
pleasingly in most telescopes.  Residing slightly northeast of the star Cebairai
(Beta Ophiuchi) the pretty Open Cluster easily pops into view with binoculars.
Although, IC 4665 was not listed by either Messier or Herschel, it did not
escape Stephen O’Meara’s worthiness-of-mention and is his Hidden Treasure 83.
