Lambda Cygni -- A Multiple Star System in the Swan
The star Lambda Cygni is a complex system of five or more stars.  Three of which are
within reach of modest-sized amateur telescopes.  The components A and B are close
(0.92 arcseconds) and a good test of both atmosphere and optics.  My 155mm refractor
has quality optics and its Dawes Limit is such that the telescope is theoretically capable
of making the split, but I rarely get sub-arcsecond seeing under my skies.  Tonight, I was
blessed with a short period of stable skies and the two stars split easily at 312x.
