NGC 6366 -- Globular Cluster in Ophiuchus
Pair of Stars Marks the Cluster
The Globular Cluster NGC 6366 is a difficult object from my suburban backyard in the small
refractor.  It is a faint object showing no concentration – just a barely visible ghostly sphere
marked by a pair of stars.  The refractor could not resolve any of the tens-of-thousands of
stars that make up this distant swarm of suns.  The two bright and one additional dim star
that were drawn within the cluster are foreground stars and are not part of the cluster proper.
The twin stars were, however, helpful in initially locating NGC 6366.
