NGC 6760 -- Globular Cluster in Aquila
Washing the Day's Worries Away
The night is clear and the moon is below the horizon for a few more hours. Aquila the Eagle is
starting its westward descent from the meridian. The subtle Globular Cluster NGC 6760 shines
weakly in the eyepiece. No resolution, just a soft glowing sphere as it looked over 24,000 years
ago.
All worries and all thoughts of the day fades from my mind. This light of tens-of-thousands of
stars has taken a long time reaching my eye and provides a relaxing perspective of all that there
is. The least I could do was capture the moment on paper.
