Struve 231 (66 Ceti) -- Double Star in Cetus
Yellow & Blue Double Star in the Whale
One and a half degrees Northwest of the famous Long-Period-Variable-Star, Mira (the
Wonderful), resides the attractive Yellow and Blue Double Star, 66 Ceti (also called
Struve 231). This widely separated pair (16.4 arcseconds) can be split with any sized
telescope. Next time you are taking in a view of Mira, a short jump to 66 Ceti will be
worth your while.
