AR-2748 -- Chromosphere of the Sun
Active Region AR-2748
Things change fast in the Chromosphere layer of the Sun's atmosphere. This morning before
the Earth's atmosphere became too unsteady from the heat of the sun, I viewed AR-2748 twice
about an hour apart. The circles represent the eyepiece field-of-view not the whole sun's disk. I
was surprised at how much this active region appeared to change in such a short time. Note
that these drawing were done through a telescope especially designed for solar viewing.
Never-Never view the sun through a telescope unless it is properly filtered.
