T Cygni -- Slow Irregular Variable & Double Star in Cyngus
The giant irregular-variable star, T Cygnii is just a quarter of a degree from the bright star that
marks the middle of the wing of the swan, Epsilon Cygni (Aljanah). T Cygnii has exhausted the
hydrogen at its core and has left the main sequence. It has started to undergo irregular spasms
as a result, fluctuating in brightness from magnitude 4.91 to 4.96.
The orange-yellow T Cygnii has a much smaller companion star at 5 o’clock in the drawing.
Some sources also state that another slightly further star (at 7 o’clock in the drawing) might also
be a companion star, but I could not confirm this with certainty.
